MAX

Min in the bag: An easy explanation of which discs I'm bagging.

Hello! My name is Max, and disc golf isn't just a hobby for me – it's a passion. Since I picked up my first disc at the beginning of 2019, I have completely fallen in love with the sport. There is something about the feeling of seeing a disc fly perfectly, that balance between technique and equipment, that makes me always want to play more and get better.
For me, disc golf is not just about how far I can throw (although 130-140 meters with a backhand feels pretty good!). It is also about choosing the right disc for the right situation. Packing my bag is a bit like building a toolbox – each disc has its special role. Here's an insight into what I bring with me to the track and why I love these particular discs.

Putters – Precision above all else

Max always puts with two K3 Reko. These drives give him the control and feel necessary to secure important points at the basket.

Approach – Flexibility for all situations

Max uses a variety of approach disks, which help him cover a variety of distances and conditions:

K3 Reko: Perfect for straight shots of 50-70 meters.

K1 Reko X: A favorite when the game calls for a left turn at the end, at the same distance.

K1 Berg: Ideal for shorter shots of 30-50 meters, thanks to its low speed and predictability.

K1 Järn: A given choice in windy conditions, for shots of 40-70 metres.

Midrange – Max favorite category

Midrange is where Max shines, and he uses these discs for his combination of length and control:

  • C-line MD3: A straight to understable midrange that he has used for over five years, perfect for throws between 70-90 meters.
  • K1 Hard Nord: For casts that require a reliable fade at the same distance.
  • K1 Hard Stig: A personal favorite, especially for straight throws or right turns of 80-110 meters.
  • K1 Kaxe: A good complement to Stig, with reliable fade for throws between 80-110 meters.

Fairway Drivers – Simple but effective

Max limits himself to two fairway drivers in his bag, thanks to his midrange drivers covering much of the need:

  • C-Line FD1: A stable disc used exclusively for forehand throws of 70-80 meters.
  • S-Line PD: For longer throws between 80-120 meters with a reliable left turn.
  • Star Firebird: A backup choice for extreme wind conditions, capable of casting between 70-100 meters.

Distance Drivers – For maximum range

When Max wants to make the most of his throw length, he uses these distance drivers:

K1 Älva: Used only for forehands and rollers, with a range of about 100 meters.

K1 Guld (x2): Two different variations – a straight to understable for calm days and a straight to overstable for windy conditions. These are his choices for throws over 130 meters.

Max play style

With an impressive throw distance of 130-140 meters on the backhand, Max is known to prefer hyzer flips, which means he throws the disc with a slight incline and lets it flip up and fly straight. This technique, combined with his carefully selected discs, allows him to reach long distances with precision.
